A Tall Cold One
“ I don’t need to drink a lot of water in the winter because I don’t sweat much and I rarely get thirsty.” This statement is a common myth. It’s often thought that you only need to drink eight glasses of water daily when you’re exercising or it’s hot outside.
We lose as much water in the wintertime as we do in the summer because the air is do dry and we spend a lot of time in heated buildings.
“Water is the most powerful healing substance known to man” Your body is primarily composed of water. Only oxygen is more vital to human survival. Eighty five percent of brain tissue is water. While your brain represents about two percent of your body weight, it uses over five percent of the body’s blood supply. Dehydration causes energy generation in the brain to decrease. In fact, studies have linked migraines, headaches, depression and chronic fatigue syndrome with dehydration.
Beverages that simply contain water aren’t good enough. Juices, soda, tea, coffee, etc. counter the positive effects of water. For example, drinks containing caffeine stimulate your adrenal gland and dehydrate/rob your body of important vitamins and minerals. Beverages containing lots of sugar, stimulate the pancreas, boosting your insulin level and taking your body out of its natural fat burning state. Sodas are the worst; they contain caffeine, sugar, sodium, and acid that could eat a hole through a dime! So, when you think you’re sick, maybe all you need are a few cold ones!
What Resolution?
Forgot your New Year resolutions already? If you aren’t constantly monitoring your progress toward meeting your goals, you will not get the results you want.
The first order of business when you’re writing your to-do list for the day is to ask yourself a simple question: “are these items moving me closer to my short-term and long-term goals?” If your answer is an unqualified “yes,” then continue onward. If you aren’t sure, re-examine your list and ask yourself what you can do to ensure that you’re not wasting a day on non-goal-oriented items.
We will be exhibiting at the Hearth Products Show in Atlanta on Feb 24-25-26, booth #2026. We hope to see you there!
