New Years Resolutions!
Here we go again with yet another stack of new years resolutions. What’s yours? Quitting smoking or taking off some weight. If weight loss is yours, just mention “carbohydrates” and watch peoples eyes light up. Almost everybody seems to have something to say about carbs these days.
Did you know, carbs are units and chains of sugar molecules that come in two varieties – simple and complex. Simple carbs are found in honey, yogurt and fruit juice, soda, candy, and doughnuts. Simple carbs are digested quickly – that’s good when you need a quick burst of energy. However, they also spike your blood glucose level, which feels great for a while. Next thing you know, you’ve burned up the energy and all you want to do is take a nap.
Complex Carbs, on the other hand, show up in veggies, whole grains, and leafy greens. They’ve got loads of fiber and lots of vitamins and minerals. Complex Carbs are digested more slowly so they give you a steady flow of energy – no desire to take a nap here.
So keep in mind, if you’re going on one of those carbo-phobic diets, carbohydrates are not all bad. Carbohydrates are good for you. Even essential. They fuel your brain (which you will find comes in handy now and then.) And they build muscles – for things like walking, breathing, or climbing a ladder. Having energy for the whole day is a good start in fulfilling all those New Years Resolutions.
It's Really Super!
Our Special this month really is special. Super Stain Remover will work better than any other product you have tried before. This concentrated cleaner and deodorizer safely removes organic stains like soot, creosote, dirt, grass stains, blood, perspiration, grease and a whole lot more. It works great on drop cloths and uniforms too.
It’s a concentrated powder that is mixed with water in a pre-soak. After a pre-soak of at least one hour, you simply add your detergent to the same water, hot or cold, and start your washing machine.
One of our customers tells us that he goes to auctions and buys old quilts really cheap that have blood and urine stains on them. He pre-soaks them over night in Super Stain Remover, washes them the next day and they come out looking like new.
