Ben Was Right
It's true, Ben Franklin was right when he said, “Time lost can never be found.”
Every day of our lives, we each get 24 hours to do whatever we want to do. Just stop and think for a minute, are you getting the most out of your 24 hours?
While we all need to sleep for 7 to 8 hours each night, it seems there are people who manage to get so much more accomplished in the remaining 16 hours than many others do in a couple of days.
Is it because they work faster and harder? Yes, that's possible, but more than likelyit's because they plan ahead and simply work smarter.
You see, each of us can control our own time; the problem is that way too many of us just don't plan. Or is it better said that they don't know how to manage their time. They seem to be running from one emergency to another.
This is often referred to as “Crisis Management.”
Whenever a crisis arises, they run to it and work on it. Further confusion comes when a second crisis arrives and they have to move to that one even before they have finished with the first one.
Before they know it, they find themselves tired from working hard all day, and they haven't managed to finish anything.
More than likely all they need to do to identify the problem is to look in the mirror. You can check on yourself simply by taking a small note pad with you for a couple of days and write down how much time you spend doing different things each day.
You'll need to write down things like 22 minutes driving, 10 minutes to set up your equipment, 35 minutes doing the job and 5 minutes picking up etc.
If you're accurate and honest in your record keeping, you'll probably find a lot of time each day that is stolen by “Time Thieves.”
What's a time thief you ask?
Time thieves don't come in any particular size, shape or color, and quite often you can't even see them.
A time thief is any person, place or thing that takes you away from getting the things done that you wanted to get completed when you started the day. Most time thieves in your life are enjoyable, like a friend at a restaurant, the guys at the coffee shop or the gas station.
You need to identify the “time thieves” in your life and if you cannot eliminate them, at least cut down on how much of your time you allow them to steal.
After you've done this for a while you will be amazed at how much more time you have for anything from relaxation to making more money.
FYI - We stock several different size Galvanized Multi-Flue Chimney Caps that are not in our catalog. Call any of our locations, you'll find our staff friendly, experienced, knowledgeable and eager to serve you.
