100 Million!
That’s how many unsolicited telemarketing calls are made every day. If you’re fed up with them and want to stop them, here’s some good news.
As of July 1st, you can sign up for the Federal “Do Not Call” Registry at www.ftc.gov/donotcall. A toll-free number will be available on that date for some regions and will be nationwide within several months.
Be sure to register all of your telephone numbers (home, business, and cell). Your registered numbers will remain on the “Do Not Call” list for five years, at which time you’ll be able to renew your entry.
Register now, but don’t expect any major changes until October 1st, when the registry goes into effect. After that you can expect a dramatic reduction in telemarketing calls.
Although you still might be able to get calls from charities, research surveys, political campaigns, and company you have patronized in the past 18 months, you’ll find that most of the rest will be eliminated.

New Damper
Have you seen the new Sealtight Damper manufactured by U.S. Fireplace Products, Inc.?
The New Sealtight Damper has a maximized opening for optimal draft. In fact, it actually has 12% more clearance than similar dampers on the market.
The new Sealtight Damper truly seals. It has a poured in liquid gasket on the underside of the frame and a solid rubber gasket on the bottom side of the lid. It is precisely hinged so that when closed, it meets both surfaces at the same time, thus creating a sure seal.
