 "Hello" Looks Great!

Did you attend the NCSG Convention in Myrtle Beach? The turn out was great and we came away with several new ideas for adding products to our catalog. We were mostly impressed with “The Energy Top” introduced by U.S. Fireplace Products.

The Energy Top looks a lot like the Lock-Top Damper but it has stronger springs, allowing it to always open to a pre-set height that creates a larger opening for a better draft.

It is energy efficient, comes with a lifetime warranty, operates from inside the firebox and is easy to install. No field assembly required.

Unlike other top-sealing dampers, USFP is proud that both the Energy Top and the Sealtight Dampers are made and assembled in our good old USA.
We will continue to carry every type of top-sealing damper, but we really think the Energy Top warrants a closer look to see if it better fits your needs.

Hello
From the moment Alexander Graham Bell created the telephone, we’ve been dancing to the telephone’s tune ever since. They’re everywhere. Cell phones can be found in places from commercial airplanes to the ski slopes of Vail. You can even buy one from a vending machine in California. The ringing of phones has become more toxic to restaurant patrons than second hand smoke. What’s next, cellular phone implants?
Although cell phone costs have dropped a lot in recent years, revenues have been well in excess of $10 billion a year for the past five years.

We can speed dial and speed redial. We’ve got call forwarding, call blocking, and call waiting. In spite of all this technological wizardry, should you somehow elude an incoming call, your voicemail will preserve every word and demand you listen as soon as you “get back in range.”

Even our own calls to other businesses involve contact with a recorded or digitally fabricated voice. If you wish to receive more information, press 1. If you need this, press 2. If you need that, press 3. If you wish to speak to a customer service representative, good luck…
But as with so many things in life, it isn’t the initial cost so much as the ongoing upkeep.

We’re not advocating that you toss technology out the window and go back to tin cans and a string, but you should take a good look at technology in your life and determine what’s helping you and what’s getting in your way.

Mega Kudos to all who knew that “Slow down you move too fast” although sung by the Lovin’ Spoonful in the 1960’s; those words were originally written by Simon and Garfunkel, as part of The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy).
