Enervex EcoDamper System
Keep the cold air out and the cool look in!
Over the years Enervex, who manufactures chimney fans, received requests from many customers about their desire to stop the loss of energy through their gas fireplace. 
Warm air would escape up the chimney during the winter when the fireplace was not in use while others would suffer from cold downdrafts. In the past, the most common solution would have been to add a set of glass doors. But that would change the look of the fireplace much to the chagrin of many homeowners.
The EcoDamper System which is specifically designed for gas fireplaces takes care of this by automatically closing the flue when the fireplace has been turned off. The ENERVEX Chimney Fan ensures the optimal amount of draft while the fireplace is in operation making it an ideal system. Furthermore, if for whatever reason there is not enough draft, the EcoDamper System will automatically shut off the gas to prevent dangerous flue gasses from entering the living space.
Aside from quietly managing a perfect draft and protecting a family from dangerous flue gases, the EcoDamper System opens up many design possibilities (instead of being limited by glass doors) and allows for a larger viewing area of the fire and a more natural look. Additionally, the damper adds less than 5” to the height of the chimney and the control can be discreetly located, making the entire system practically invisible. Pretty cool, huh?
The system consists of the ENERVEX Chimney Fan, the Mechanical Fireplace Damper (MFD), and the ADC 100 Control.
