Single-flue chimney covers typically bolt to the chimney flue tile that extends above the chimney. Single flue chimney covers are available in stainless steel, copper and galvanized painted black. They consist of a spark arrestor screen, a lid and a base.

Multi-flue chimney covers attach to the chimney crown with masonry fasteners and adhesive.  The base of these caps typically has about a 1 ½” lip that the screws can attach to.  The spark arrestor screen provides vertical support to the lid that sheds rain away from the opening in the clay tiles in the chimney.
